Hello Poets

Please join us for our 8th birthday (and last) Lewes Poetry.  After eight years for Ollie (and three for Laura), we have decided to close the club to embrace other creative pursuits - though poetry will always remain our first love!

Please help us in the fine words of T.S Eliot 'go out with a bang, not a whimper'! and make it a night to remember.

And did we mention the free cake...?

Thank you to everyone who has supported the club over the years and made so many happy memories!

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for our final gig!

We are delighted to welcome award-winning performance poet Mac McFadden to Lewes as our guest poet for April. Mac is a wizard wordsmith who will regale you with the delightful tale of the time he shared fish and chips with the Queen, his views on marmite and bemoaning how he's;

Bonfire Poetry at the Lewes Arms On Friday, 25 October 2013

A special Bonfire Poetry edition of Lewes Poetry will take place on Friday, 25 October 2013 at the Lewes Arms, Lewes.

All the poems will be about Bonfire and remembrance, and Bonfire Society members will wear their costumes.

The entertainment kicks off at 8.15pm and there will be a poetry competition with a prize.

Entrance is £5 or £4 for readers and those wearing Bonfire costumes.

New Season at Lewes Poetry

The autumn/winter season starts at Lewes Poetry on Thursday, 26 September 2013.

The club is in its sixth year and takes place nine or 10 times a year upstairs at the Lewes Arms, Mount Place, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 1YH.

We put on a huge variety poets from published poets to performance poetry stars and rappers.

No two nights are the same.

All are welcome. It is a supportive and friendly atmosphere for new and experienced readers alike.

Doors open at 8.30pm for a show at around 9pm. £5 or £4 (concessions / readers).
